Wanting to video my daughters soccer games. Would a tripod mounted GOPRO work or is there something better at a descent price?

If you prefer to stay in budget mode... or saving for house downpayment, kids, whatever... the Campark ACT74 would probably be your best option...around $50 at Amazon and it's stellar reputation is well earned. If money is no object... I may stay with GoPro... but for your stated application I think you'll do'd just as well with the ACT74.
