Looking for recommendations for a digital voice recorder

I guess it doesn't have to be digital, but I assume cassette tape-style recorders aren't a thing anymore.
My wife and I are having some issues with our school system and accommodations for our autistic kid for next year, and I feel like I need to record our next in-person meeting in case this breaks down into future litigation. Essentially, we feel the system is trying to bully us into an unsafe situation for our child. We have another meeting coming up, and I need a recorder that can decently record a meeting with 10-15 people in a conference room that obviously isn't set up for good acoustics.
Depending on how this meeting goes, it is possible I will need to spend a lot of money on an attorney, so it would be best if I could get something affordable, but I also don't want something that won't accurately record what is said so I'd rather spend money and capture the full extent of the conversation than cheap out and capture nothing.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

your phone?
Will my phone work for that? Seems like the microphones on phones aren't good for this sort of recording, but I guess I also haven't done a lot of that. I'm not trying to be sneaky about it but I do want to be sure to get clear audio.
