I've been using the logmein program to access my work desktop from my house and it has been working smoothly. I just got the new price for next year and it is $349, up from $249 last year and up from $49 since 2014.

I should have noticed last year about the price increase, but, making the switch now.

Looking online I see splasttop seems to be a worthy replacement at $16.99 a year for the personal use (which will work fine).

Question is, has anybody used splashtop or other services they would recommend? I need to get away from logmein and their ridiculous pricing.

TeamViewer is free for personal use. Splashtop and Anydesk are also low cost alternatives.

I just toyed around with Splash top and works about the same as logmein and is 16.99 a year versus logmein's 349.99.

Cancelled the logmein via phone, very easy process.

Running splashtop now and works fine.

Heads up to logmein users, the amount they charge is ridiculous when you have similar programs at a fraction of the cost or actually free to use.
