I’ve created a real clusterXXXX with my contacts. Overtime and through my incompetence, I have duplicate and often different contacts in Google, Outlook (from work), Contacts (Windows), and have used Google, iCloud, and OneDrive and backups.
Know have no idea what is synchronized with what and what is dominant, so I change things and the changes are overwritten and old crap from 10 years ago keeps popping up, etc.
How do I figure out the current synchronization, undo it, and set up a proper backup program?

Why don’t you export the most comprehensive list into an excel (csv) file. Work on removing all duplicates.
You could combine the export of all databases and run a unique formula to produce a list that includes only one instance of each person.
Then delete contacts from all email programs and import the one list from that new clean excel file. Then only add in one database from now on.

Thanks!- makes sense. I guess I need to pick one and stick to it. Challenge came when my employer locked down Outlook and would not allow syncing or exporting or importing of contacts. I had two sets of data and it went downhill from there.
