Morning everyone,

My dad bought the LG UQ9000 TV yesterday afternoon and we attempted to set it up last night. Unfortunately, we were unable to do so due to the TV giving us a "no signal" error when connecting DirecTV. I tried chaning HDMI cables and ensured the DTV was connected properly. Anyone have any additional troubleshooting tips? I tried for nearly 2 hours to get any sort of image to populate and zilch...

This may sound silly but did you make sure the input selection on the tv was pointing to the correct HDMI input?

Lol nothing silly about it, but I believe so. I tried every difference HDMI port and no success. I even went get my 2.1 HDMI cable from my own house as I thought his HDMI cable may have been too old/defective.

Have you confirmed that the DTV box works on another tv?

Have you tried plugging in something else to the new tv like a streaming box?

That was my first thought as well. If nothing else works then the TV needs to be returned.

I ran out of time last night trying this step. Will try this afternoon. It was previously working without issue on other TV but will make sure.

Yes lol. So I ended up having to switch DTV boxes/receivers and voila, it worked. If I had to guess, that DTV box is roughly 10-15 years ago which could have attributed to the issue. I'll be calling to upgrade the box for my pops today but we got him watching TV. Appreciate all the input!

That old box probably didn’t support a resolution that the new TV recognized.

SO the DTV box was the bigger one, I guess the main "hub". I had to swap it with a smaller genie one and it worked fine. I then moved the "hub" to their guest room where I had to use the old school red, yellow, white cables to get it working with that TV. It was a frustrating process but I am glad it worked out, eventually.
