LED strips around outside steps

The house has two larger steps leading to the front door. I’m looking for a glow-like effect from underneath the treads.
I want to make sure I can dim them a lot, until I get the desired effect. Do I just need to get waterproof LEDs that say “dimmable” and a controller that includes a dimming option? Or is there something in particular I should be looking out for? There’s a ton of options out there.
Also where do you buy your LED supplies online?

Look at govee. They might have what you're looking for. They have millions of color settings/themes.
