Laptop insurance?

My son just got a macbook for college. I'm worried about it getting lost or stolen. Googling has told me I should have a rider put on my homeowners to protect it, but I was wondering if anyone knows of or uses a standalone policy like many have for their phones? Thanks for any input.

Look into a Personal Articles Policy or something similar. Separate from your homeowners. Lower deductible and most will cover theft and even if they break it. Also keeps your homeowners policy claims free.
