They didn't credit a payment and our business internet was temporarily suspended this AM. Got it all straightened out, but the weird thing is during all this, my phone, which was connected to the WiFi, still worked. I turned off mobile data to make sure, and it still had internet access.

Is there a nearby business with ATT Wifi?

Is it an iPhone? There’s a WiFi assist setting where it will switch to cellular data if the WiFi signal is weak or has no internet.

Not that I'm aware of. I didn't think to look at where my WiFi was connected, but I'd be surprised if there was an open signal around there.

Missed the last part about turning the mobile data off. Strange but you may have been connected to a different WiFi or a mobile hotspot on someone else’s data.

Maybe they were supposed to suspend service but didn't. I bought a phone from Swappa and used if for a year. When I went to sell it Swappa said I couldn't list it because it was blacklisted. I called AT&T and the rep said that it indeed was blacklisted. I told him I had used it for a year and was currently using it to talk to him. If it was blacklisted how was that possible? He said he didn't know.
