Intel Core Ultra 2

Almost bought a 255H mini tonight. I like staying current and I thought it’d help organize my IT mess some. Holy crap. I’m glad I did a quick read first. I couldn’t believe my eyes. How did Intel create a such a great chip with Meteor Lake H (core ultra 1) and then take such a huge step backwards?
Vs the 155H, the 255H
-Deletes hyper-threading(meh).
-Deletes one media engine
-Deletes AV1 encode
-Moves media engine(not engines because only one now) back onto the GPU(this is bad).
-has 13 tops instead of 11(who cares).
And I almost bought one! Maybe if you’re not using it for media, it’s not a big deal but that was 50% of what I wanted to do.

Intel has sucked for years now, it's all AMD on the cpu side of things.

That’s a very gamer thing to say.
Intel’s Quick Sync and openVino are several years ahead of AMD solutions for stability and performance on about 95% of software using ML or media acceleration. It isn’t even remotely close.l, especially on mobile platforms.
My complaint is just how in the hell could the make a next generation so much worse than a previous one. It appears their process wasn’t ready for release time and they made a last-minute shift back to TSMC but why not just not release it?

No, on everything. Intel is DOA and looking at a buyout/takeover all year for a reason.
Hell, even Apple is much better for mobile.

Apple is a universe of their own in performance, but sadly, also in price and compatibility. They’re also using a lot more silicon.
