Help with changing brightness on iPhone

iPhone 12 Pro Max. Literally every time I unlock my phone my brightness is all the way down to where I can barely even see the screen and I have to manually change it. No matter the time of day it always happens.
I’ve googled it and changed all kinds of brightness settings and it still happens. Battery isn’t even drained either so I’m not getting why it’s doing this and it’s driving me insane.

Go to settings, select accessibility, then select display and text size.. scroll down until you auto brightness, make sure it’s turned off. Should fix your issue.

Thank you. I have pure shite vision and i always have to go in and change the brightness up to see. I just never dove into how to actually do it.
