Has anyone upgraded iphone 8 for the new iphone SE?

I'm one of the stubborn that loves the home button/touch id. I have been clinging to my iPhone 8 and planning to keep it as long as feasible. Recently, the iPhone se2 came out that's basically an 8 with more ram, better processing chip, and portrait mode.
Is it worth upgrading just for that?

What kind of deal can you get the SE for?
I have Cricket and it was only $350 (no contracts or anything.)
The iPhone SE appears to have much louder speakers.
SE has better performance (but not really enough to tell bc the 8 is great), camera (much better, especially portrait stuff), and overall value moving forward. The main reason to upgrade would be for longevity (iOs and future updates.)
I think the SE also has dual SIM support, but I haven't checked.
Ultimately it's up to you and what you want.

I’m with you. I still love my iPhone 8 and am excited to hear from anyone who uses the SE2.

Well for one thing, I still owe 175 on my 256gb iPhone 8. So id have to pay that off, then I believe the SE 256gb is about $549.00
I could sell my mint 8 on ebay for at least 250-300.
Basically, it would be paying 175 payoff plus about 250 or so after deducting resale of my 8. I would be going in $425-$450 to change my iPhone 8 into an SE.
No sure if its worth the extra GB of ram, processing chip, and the portrait mode.

I keep phones until they literally die basically and I just upgraded from a iPhone 5 to the new SE and I like it. Much faster than what I had obviously and battery lasts forever. Can’t compare to the 8 but the se does everything it’s supposed to

Sounds like you maybe you should wait then? Although, you should really just do what you want.
I tried to sell my immaculate iPhone 8 256 gb on eBay for like $225 or so and nobody would bite at all. I was shocked.. I did get offers for $200, but I decided to just give it to my dad at that point. I also didn't include any accessories in my listing though. My battery health was 85% on it though, so IDK if that factored into nobody buying it at my asking price. I have since bought a brand new battery for it and my dad is happy.
I got the new SE for my mother and like I mentioned before, the speaker is incredibly loud. It runs very nice, but IDK if it's worth upgrading unless you get a good deal on it.
