Google Pixel 2 and cameras

Both cameras stopped working after software update.
From what I read, it seems to be an issue with Google and they're just telling people to pay to fix it, when most seem to realize it's a software issue.
A few people have been able to try a few measures, like booting in safe mode, and it works temporarily. Some even place a magnet near the phone's flash lens to get it to work.
Tried other camera apps other than the standard preinstalled one. Nothing helps.
Unless a new version of Android (I have 10) comes out and fixes this, it looks like I am SOL.
Unless you gurus have the fix.
Just wanting to give a heads up to pixel 2 owners (may be other pixel versions,too.)
