anyone have experience with buying the google cameras for their home security? the floodlight cam and the others seem steep but functional.

I scooped a few a year or so ago when someone here posted a huge Home Depot deal where they had the Outdoor IQ cam for like $99 when they're regular priced $399, also got an indoor IQ and the doorbell. I have been very happy with everything, works flawlessly and no complaints.

I have nest doorbell camera and one google/nest outdoor camera. I don't have it hard wired. It last about 2 weeks then have to charge over night. Everything works fine.

if you could do it over again, would you get it hard wired?

They're reliable. I don't have the floodlight cam.
As an aside, if you're considering other floodlights I had the Ring floodlight cam, which was finicky but ok. I now have the Eufy 360 pro or whatever, which is amazing. I've gone to all Eufy except for a few Google ones. Unfortunately I was unifying all of them via HomeKit, but the new Eufy flood doesn't have HK support yet.
