Fire box with Watch ESPN app question

I am in the process of getting all the components together for going cordless and have not cancelled cable yet. I have the Watch ESPN app on my Fire TV box and when I first went to use it had to go to the page and type in a code so it could verify my cable provider which is Suddenlink. When I cancel cable I will still keep Internet with them. Will not having cable affect me still being able to use the Watch ESPN app or am I okay as long as I still have Internet with them? Thanks in advance.

Of course it will. You need to have a cable subscription with the channels on it that you want to watch

If you have PSVue, DirectTV Now or Sling for streaming you can activate with those as well.
I like the $35 PSVue service. Gives you all the ESPN,SEC Network, Big Ten Network, a bunch of Fox Sports, and access to ESPN now app.

Thanks. I was looking at a kodi app called Sports Access as a backup plan. It's 38.00 for 3 months and they offer a Black Friday deal for 94.00 for the whole year. It has a ton of things available on it from what I have seen so far. You pay in bitcoin.
Here's a link for their current schedule

Does anyone have any dealings with this particular app or any other suggestions?

Cheapest way is to get SlingTv for $25/month with the sports package. I had Sling for over a year but recently switched to PSvue which has more channels for $35/month. You can use WatchESPN app with both.

Yes, when you cancel cable you will no longer have a WatchESPN account. It is one of the ways they get you.
