Do I need to have an alexa device to plug into the amazon outlet or any anything can be plugged in? I want to set a timer on a space heater at 6am.

Anything. Just be careful of the max wattage for the outlet.

At $25? They go on sale for $5 a few times a year. Also, cheaper options currently available that work with Alexa for under $25

Yeah I saw that. Not ordering until the price drops. I think they really want to sell the echo flex.

Ok, I was somewhat confused. The echo flex doesn't take an outlet. It's a separate plug that comes bundled with it if you are looking at the echo flex with $15 smartplug.
