Do I need a DVD player in aftermarket radio

In order to play movies on rear tv? I want to replace the old navigation unit in my Tahoe with something new. It seems a lot of the new head units do not have CD/DVD.

check your inputs. if you have an aux you can find an adapter for just about anything; even RCA to HDMI adapters exist.
