According to suasnews.com DJI has terminated the production of the iconic Phantom 4. This was probably the shortest lifespan of all the DJI products. They released it on March 1st 2016 and terminated production on 18th of January.

Mavic Pro killed its predecessor quick. Also read somewhere that they are thinking about a Mavic Standard which could replace the P3S.

We've been flying Phnatom 4s. I think We're gonna get a Mavic Pro soon though.

Anyone jump from the 4 to the Mavic Pro? If so how awesome is it?

i have a mavic pro.

If they were going to kill the P4 that quick why didnt they put sensors on every face of the mavic, like the p4, instead of just the front and bottom.

Have to save something for the Mavic 2, maybe. I think DJI severely underestimated the Mavic's impact on the rest of its lines.

I had been interested in the drones for years. Grew up messing with RC stuff, but never was ready to pull the plug. When I saw the mavic from a post here, I ordered within 2 days. I really do think it's a huge leap forward in the evolution of the platform.

I think we will continue to see a rapid introduction/discontinuation of models due to the speed at which the technology is improving. Where drone features can go seems limitless right now.

Only limitation looming is legal.

I bought a P3S on Black Friday as an entry level drone. I wish I had just waited and spent the money on the Mavic. I'll probably get one by the end of the year. The P3S is great and easy to fly but too many limitations with the flight distance.

I got the P3S as well on black friday and love it...looks like they just made the upgrade options simpler.

I'm not sold on the durability just yet.

I pack and unpack mine a lot, it appears to be extremely durable. I am not extremely hard on my stuff though, so I see it lasting a long time. Someone like Casey Neistat on the other hand who gives 0 shits about how he treats his equipment may break it quick.

I've crashed my Phantom 3 extremely hard 4 times now. Still works like new.
