Dish Pay as You Go question

I got Dish Pay as you go for tailgating in September. Well We only used it for a week or two and then hadn't used it since. I forgot about it and didn't cancel before a month but I haven't seen anything on my credit card statement. Will they only bill me if I connect the receiver to a satellite signal again or should I call dish and officially cancel? It'd be great if I could just keep it "live" and have it automatically bill me when I use it, but I don't want it to just keep billing me without me using it. Any help would be great. Thanks.
