Wondering if the two are related. 1/3 of time I cannot connect to CarPlay. I forget device, reset phone, try to re-pair and no luck.
Also having issues with GoogleMaps/AppleMaps/wayz not accurately locating me on a map (my car is just floating all over the place or in the middle of water).

Called Apple. They had me do something with location services and reset phone. Worked for 5 minutes but back to same problems after I hung up.

The girl that cuts my hair reported very similar in a recent explorer. You need to grant access to location services for the apps in settings -> privacy and security.

It didnt happen to me after I upgraded to 18.x, but I use wireless CarPlay, not wired, which may make a difference.

Apple had me do the former and it worked for about 5 minutes then stopped working with connectivity issues continuing to be a problem. I use wireless only

Not sure if it has anything to do with the issue you're facing, but I was having some similar problems with CarPlay a few months ago. Finally figured out it was because I was using a VPN. Once I turned VPN off it worked with no more issues.
