Can you used a charging cable + wireless charging at the same time?

I have an iPhone 8 Plus and I just got a Belkin wireless charging pad for it. I didn't ask at the Apple Store and I'm pretty sure it doesn't work, but I'm curious, does charging your phone with a lightning/USB C/mini USB cable while having it on a wireless charging pad increase charge time?
