Working from home 100% for a bit and due to my Gov't issued hardware, we've always been asked to use a wired (via usb) keyboard and mouse.

What I'm curious of is there a way to use a native bluetooth keyboard and mouse but just use a USB to USB-C (normally as a way to charge) and plug that in to gov't laptop and work? That should be fine, however, what happens when I unplug those as chargers, does bluetooth re-enable and re-connect to say ipad or whatever?
Same with the bluetooth keyboards that have functionality keys to swap to multiple devices. Will those just re-enable when disconnected from gov't laptop?

Curious if any Army Corps, Navy/Marine Corps or DoD folks have ever toyed with this?

You should ask your IA rep. I wouldnt do it without approval. Besides a wired keyboard/mouse, the only thing i’d plug in is hdmi for secondary screen

I did and sadly didn't get much help. I was told that if it's a mouse and keyboard I should be ok but not sure they fully understood the point I was trying to convey that it's a bluetooth mouse/keyboard but can also be hardwired from USB(to gov't laptop) to USB-C(to keyboard/mouse).

I'm still reluctant to just trust them that it'll work and lock my laptop up. Just was curious if anyone had done it before but probably will just play it safe and not.
