Best whole home wired audio player? I have NUVO

I don’t really care for my NUVO system. It’s clunky and glitchy. The house is wired with multiple zones and the speakers are doing fine, it’s really just the operating system that I don’t like. Can I switch to something better?

I recently re-purposed a Mi Box from a video streamer to an audio streamer and I'm able to use all of the apps from the Google Play Store - YouTube Music, Tune-in, Pandora, SiriusXM, Amazon Audio, Spotify, etc.
Having a remote and HDMI, USB and 3.5 mm combination analog / optical audio ports provides several options.
I use a 10" HDMI monitor (~$90) as recommended in this video - works well for my use.

You have one of the portfolio players or one of the older systems with in wall keypads ?
I personally like the Nuvo app better than most of the other options, Sonos, Heos, Bose. Etc

No wall pads. Just the app.
