But in all seriousness, we have an 8k BTU portable AC for our laundry room. It works well. It is an LG product. $250-$300 at Home Depot I think.

We've had it for 3-4 years. Had to replace the exhaust tubing once; which is expensive, but cheaper than a new unit.
