Best home internet child protection service?

Most of the things I have seen are for mobile device protection. But I’m looking for internet filtering for kid’s home laptops. Any recommendations?

Most any of the DNS filtering types will block the majority.
1 - Cloudfare has a family friendly DNS server (1.1.1.3) that will block a huge portion of that stuff, just set it as the DNS server for hosts that should block that content.
2 - PiHole works very well for a roll your own solution with more customized control.

This.
Set up your kids on a separate SSID and set it to use the cloudflare dns. I do this at my house.

You’ll install it on an always-on computer (they support windows, Linux, and osx whereas pihole is Linux only, unfortunately, and if you’re not already running VMs on Docker, then you’re probably not going to want to start that for one service that isn’t any better than one that’s easier to install. Likewise, if you don’t have a tiny mini computer like a Raspberry Pi, you’d probably prefer not going out and buying one).
It’s also a DNS filter. You can do a lot with it, including setting per-client restrictions, so you can keep them off of Reddit or YouTube or TikTok whatever it is you want them off of while leaving them available to you.

i have that microsoft "Family Safety" app and it's free. You can link all devices and pick levels of protection.
