I need a new computer for my office. I like the idea of having something like a surface pro that I can take with me on the road since I'm mobile a lot during the day.
I don't need anything special. Just normal work stuff.(email, storing documents, etc) Not storing a ton of pictures or movies.
I'd love your thoughts.

Sounds like Surface Pro 3 is your answer. Ultra portable, decent battery life, functions like tablet but also runs full-blown Windows 8.1. A little weak in hardware -- about the same as a Macbook Air (for the i5 128gb version), but with the advantage of a much better screen and tablet/notebook hybrid functionality.
There are cheaper options, though, that still offer the "ultrabook" experience.

Thanks. I was leaning towards a surface pro 3. Just checking if there was a better option out there.

Maybe look into a docking station or usb monitor for some desktop functionality

Wife has one, she's an attorney. LOVES it. Takes it to court, home, work, etc.
Get that little wireless mouse with it (extra)
