Basic Personal Laptop Recommendations

I am looking for a basic windows based laptop that wont break the bank.
Primary use would be internet and some light Excel and PDF usage. 14 to 16 inch screen would be sufficient.
Light, thin and able to connect to a docking station to use a desktop screen are what I'd like.

Is a USBc multi-port hub good enough here (it's what I use to connect external monitor to my MacBook for example), or is there a specific docking station style you have in mind? I honestly couldn't tell you any that have an old school hardware dock.
Just on discount percentage, this one jumped out at me. Will take a look around to see if anything else is looking like a great buy.

MSI Modern 14 has been on sale recently and recommended that for a friend and it worked out well.

Not sure of the details on this (Windows S mode) but price is solid assuming no issues getting that to run normal Windows:

Excel/PDF really isn't going to take much in the way of system resources, to the point that a Chromebook could be worth considering. Could get the android version of Excel on many units if you can't use the Google Sheets.

Yes, a USBc multi-port hub is what I had in mind. I appreciate the suggestions.
