I posted a while back that my home has literally no service. We get 1 bar in the front dining room and we both work from home and are on the phone all day. I turned on wifi calling but the service is still god awful.

We are having ATT fiber installed on Monday because our Cox internet service is also terrible. The internet we have is slow and doesn’t reach all corners of the house.

Is there a chance that having fiber will increase the wifi calling signal strength? I am on the phone with clients all day and it’s not a great look for our team when they can’t hear me.

It’s 1 story, 2100 sq ft, 3 bedrooms. So not huge. But it has stucco and the insulation in the ceilings that apparently weakens cell signal. We probably need an extended. But it depends on where the put the Fiber hub. If they put it in the middle of the house it should be ok. Possibly. I’d prefer a strong signal out in the back yard though. So an extender probably will be needed.

Get a mesh wifi system like Google wifi will cover your whole house much better than a extender will

What is your speed with Cox?

Depending on location and amount of interference between the router/modem and phone, this may be enough to cause major headaches. I have issues because my modem/router is centrally located, but my wall has sound proofing insulation.

My IT Group used an app called Wi-Fi SweetSpots when they were mapping out where to put our extenders. You basically open the app, hit start, and walk around the house/office. This will tell you where your weak points are and where/if you need some sort of extender.
