what do you mean 'connected to the TV'? hdmi? ethernet? you trying to mirror your mac screen on the tv? are you trying to set up a new temporary plex server using the hotel's wifi? if you are then i imagine you'd have to authenticate with plex again. this isn't a working local install; you're basically setting it up fresh and you'll need access to the internet to do that.
if all you're doing is mirroring your mac screen then i think it would be much easier if you just double click the movie files themselves and let it play through the mac's default video player.
