Arduino to make an SMS/GSM relay?

Anyone here get into arduino projects?
Full context: I’m trying to DIY a cellular hog trap trigger. Since 3G was eliminated, none of the standalone eBay/chinese garage door options work in the US anymore.
There are a handful of boards on Amazon that use a SIM7000a chip, that interface with an Arduino and claim to work with 4G/LTE but there’s a very low number of reviews. Most of them are positive, but just seems sketchy.
Is there a better way to do this? A more established GSM card for an arduino? Ultimately I want to be able to get a picture from a game cam, see hogs in trap, send a text and have that trigger a 12v relay.
