$139
2x NVENC
2x NVDEC
32GB 256 bit unified RAM
30+ TOPS
8 core ARM
<50w
Too slow for LLMs but would do a TON of frigate cameras and Plex/Jellyfin streams.
Think they’re a pain to use?

They basically just run their own flavor of Ubuntu when you install jetpack. They are very easy to use.

If you are wanting to use their HW decoders Gstreamer is the default one, and is big pain to use. The scripting language is poor, and the API is basically the same.

I think people have been getting FFMPEG working lately, but its been a minute since I used them for video encoding/decoding

Other than that they work like any other small form factor PC.

If you are not using it for CUDA or its hardware video stuff, seems like they would be more trouble than they are worth

Thanks. Didn’t realize enc/dec was any different from GPUs. Frigate community seems to have it all figured out but I don’t have 30 cameras so no need really.
It would be a huge value if I could put Jellyfin on there also but that looks a little too tricky for me right now. Hopefully they make it easy soon.

Edit: looks like only the nano uses the NVMPI and this larger AGX xavier has standard NVENC (and has 2x of them). Wish there was better documentation out there.
