Anyone have success connecting a tablet to a TV via a micro USB to HDMI cable?

Long story short, I'm in South Korea for the next several weeks for work and I don't have a laptop.
I do have a tablet though so I can watch Netflix, HBO Go, Prime, etc.
However, holding the tablet at all times or awkwardly positioning myself to see it hands free is getting old. The electronics store across the street from my hotel sells micro USB to HDMI cables, but I'm not sure how reliable that would be.
Anyone have experience doing this?

I do this with my phone at the camp. Works like a charm.
