people are gun-shy..bitten in the arse by those shitty-every-single-CFL-casts-different-light-bullshite-bulbs-last-6-months-not-6-years-headache-inducing-flourescent-lighting-mercury-landfill-hazard-expensive--arse bulbs.
yeah that was a great improvement over the 6 cent incadescent bulb.

I bought two of the cree freeflows from home depot the other day. They were only $4.97. I like them, so i went to buy more, but didnt realize i caught them on sale last time

good news is you can get $7.97 each back in store credit towards a $9.97 cree with the 10y warranty so you can pocket a cool $6

I seriously doubt i would keep the upc and register receipt for 10 years. Besides, i have never seen the ink on a receipt last 10 years. Their page doesnt say if you could provide a photo copy or not

in 10 years these bulbs will cost $2 and i doubt cree will care about your receipt; they'll just swap the bulb for you. (if they're still in business)

So I picked up a single Cree LED bulb to try in my existing recessed fixture just to test the color.
Well it doesn't work at all. Do these lights require some new type of fixture? Also, CAD you recommended getting the light/fixture combo to replace my existing fixture. Is there a benefit to these?

The all-in-one unit is only $19 and it looks very nice because the light is sealed. I didn't know Cree sold recessed lights without the fixture included.

Yeah I got one at Home Depot. It isn't working though so I may take it back and just get the all-in-one unit.

Remember only the tw version of that 6" light doesn't have those little clips. Look carefully as they are almost identical packaging.
