Android VZ messages don't completely move to new phone

I'd be much obliged for some ideas.
Old phone S21 Ultra, new phone S24 Ultra.
Used smart switch, but all text messages didnt move to new phone.
Some are incredibly precious to me, so any good ideas appreciated.
I tried changing messaging app, but still doesn't completely work.
TIA for any replies.

There's an app called SMS Backup that people have been using forever with good results. You can back up the texts on your old phone to your Google Drive, then restore from it on the new phone.
