I still can't wrap my mind around 860 passes in one game.
I hate that they're so freaking good, but I can do nothing but respect that kind of play. Masterful.

500 of which are under 10 yards to people in 4 yards of space

Aragonés was right, WTF are we going to do with all this weak midgets? We're a gonna get 'Murrican. 'Murrican, you say? Yep, 'Murrican.
PROACTIVE.
The best way to defend is to not let the opposition have the ball.
These pass fests are tiresome, but they serve to:
-undermine the opponent's morale
-eat up the clock
-employ the snake charmer tactic
-open a crease, seam, lane
It is nice to watch if one is a fan of this, beautiful to watch if one is a Spaniard who loves their national side (not all do), it is revolutionary, and if Vincent Of The Forest gets off his arse and properly prepares and coaches this bunch of prima donnas, this side will be the GOAT (70's Brazil will be a near unanimous second, as Pelele and his four friends will bark otherwise until the grave, but it won't matter).

AKA The Way My High School Basketball Team Ran An Offense (No Shot Clock.) They can't score if they don't have the ball.

Why not? Why wouldn't you support what could be the greatest national team ever?

Contrary to popular belief, Spain has alot of people who don't give a shite about football.
You also have nationalists, everywhere.

I'm not chastising them keeping them keeping the ball but often they do take 4 passes to do what one pass could do which improves these stats
e.g. one year in the EPL Denilson had the highest passing % at over 90%
