There is a difference between asking if he could reciprocate the same results at another club and saying he was simply present. I'm still not sure he'll be able to be as dominant with Bayern as he was with Barcelona; that doesn't mean I don't respect him as a coach. Once again, I don't think that's "poopooing" him.

I'm not sure if Pep can top what Jupp has done this year but once again, that doesn't mean I think he's overrated. Bayern is putting together a possibly legendary season.

I think he'll do very well at Bayern next year but I also think Jurgen Klopp is a great coach who will have Dortmund ready again next season so I'm not foreseeing another 17 point runaway season

Agree with all you say, except for your trying to avoid the Pep bashing. You were pretty strong in your criticism of Pep Guardiola, and his role in his side´s success.

Not hateful criticizing per se, no doubt, but simply, you continually commented he had yet to coach, mentor or guide, that he simply was in the right place at the right time.

I begged to differ, and I now recall, that two or three others, agreed with your inane comments.

I never said he was simply in the right place at the right time. I said that he was in a perfect storm of a situation. He came up with a lot of the players, with a system that they felt comfortable with. A machine was built and I think that once it was built, the maintenance wasn't quite as heavy. He built the machine so it's not a negative thing.

I asked if he would be able to do it with a different club. I wondered if he would be able to build another machine and I wondered if he is as tactically astute as Mourinho (who I think is one of the best in the world at making adjustments to put his team in situations to win). You may not think those are fair questions, but it doesn't mean that I think he was a monkey with a whistle.

The fact that he took on a unique challenge in a league that he wasn't too familiar with speaks a lot to me about his character and confidence. I think he's stepping into another advantageous situation but I fully expect him to put his stamp on the team to make it uniquely his. I think we'll learn a lot more about him in the next few years and I think he'll grade pretty highly.

Honestly the biggest problem I have with Pep is that he seems to have made a couple of big money blunders in the transfer market.

nice deflection, and you build upon it. Nevertheless, your continuity of this, has great merit.

You are right, I think he is ´ballsey´. He´s not half assed. As the Auburn people would say, he´s ´all in´. He´s not one to do things half assed.

He looks very haggard for his age, in case you´ve not noticed, and that´s a very, very good indication of his absorption in his task.

He and Bayern would not have reached an agreement if both weren´t satisfied. We are speaking of two parties which must have everything crystal clear, no grey areas.

I think I mentioned this once, a year and a half ago, and I don´t recall it now to make myself look fantastic, but simply, I quipped, that were this organization and Pep Guardiola to get together, we would be talking about something monumental.

Iconoclastic monumental.

I was already aware of Bayern´s youth system, and agreements with ancilllary systems. Pep brings the opportunity to open the door in Africa and South America, wider than Bayern had done so, until now.

You and Tweezy are right, it is scary, very scary, for the other major powers.

If you wanna join Tweezy and me on the dark side, we could use a translator for Javi Martinez and Pep quotes
