So not so different. He didn’t even try to beat Everton.

Yes he did

He played first team players, it was rotation players with some youngsters in it.

That’s not the same as a full u23 squad with out him even on the touch line.

Yes but the CWC is sort of what started this whole debacle in the first place when we had to play a game in Qatar 12/17 and a game at Villa 12/18. It’s just the schedule congestion in general.

As mentioned, we had some first team guys playing in that match. And also Chelsea are a bit more in form than Everton...that’s putting it nicely.

I just don’t see Klopp trotting out another U23 squad this time around.

Gomez was the only starting 11 that played in the game.

5 guys who started that game also started the shrewsbury game.

If you want to call that trying, I am not going to agree.

You sure? Everton hadn’t lost in a month going into that game, outside of man city, which included a strong win over Chelsea, and are only 8 points down to Chelsea right now. Klopp still chose a much weaker squad to play in that game.

Chelsea haven’t played well lately, but still think overall they are a more troubling side than Everton. They’ve been near the top of the PL consistently all season. Everton dabbled in the relegation zone for a while.

Also, look at that lineup vs Everton again. There was some youth but it was majority first team guys: Adrian, Gomez, Milner, Lallana, Origi, Minamino. Ox subbed in and Henderson and Mane were also both available.

If you play first team members that’s trying

Everton was trash early, but has been better than Chelsea since we thrashed them in December.

We essentially mixed 5 kids in with 5 backups in that game. Heck, It was mini’s first ever game for us. That’s not trying to win.

So you think Klopp wasn’t trying to win a derby

We put that squad out bc of holiday fixture congestion not because he didn’t want to win.

And since depth is still an issue his style of play is very taxing

Laugh all you want to, but the lineup in that game supports my claim.

You are an idiot

You been posting nonsense but this takes the cake

If Klopp flat out tried to not win a match vs Everton the locals would be going nuts

Was it a full strength squad ? No but it was competitive enough especially with the holiday fixture congestion

You have been reduced to nonsensical trash talk for days now, and it’s not getting any better.

If that lineup vs Everton was a mix of backups and starters, you would have a point, but it was a mix of kids and backups instead. That is very weak and you trying to argue otherwise makes you look clueless.

Back ups are still first team players

You don’t play first team guys in an attempt to not win. They are professionals who want to compete

To argue otherwise is absurd

The only point was Klopp didn’t prioritize that match due to the league matches around it

To say he tried to not win is fricking dumb

I never said backups weren’t first team. You just suck at reading.

Here are the 4 basic squad choices:

1. full strength
2. backups mixed with starters
3. Backups mixed with kids
4. All kids

Klopp went with a 3 in Everton FA cup. He sat all the stars, and replaced many of them with kids, which you don’t do when you want to win badly. He wouldn’t have done that if that were an EPL game.

It was definitely a "if we win, great. If not, still great" line up.

Your stance is he tried to throw a derby match

He didn’t prioritize it due to fixture congestion

Your claim he tried not win is flat out stupid

Yea it’s a line up saying I have to league matches on either side of this and I can’t run my squad into the ground

Not I’m trying not win

I think y'all are kind of arguing about semantics. No, he didn't try to "throw" the game, but most people would agree that a line up with half back ups/half kids is a sign that you aren't really trying to win.
