Brian Phillips, Grantland writer, wrote about becoming engrossed in a tiny club solely because of FM. The real-life club has made an improbable run over the past few seasons and is now in Serie B.
Thought some of you FM fans might enjoy reading this. (I personally am waiting for the day that Crewe Alexandra makes it to the Premier League.)

I was waiting for you to say, "Oh, you mean crack?"

Just got this today. It's as addicting as any game ever. Anyone got any tips? There seems to be a lot of stuff to worry about. My first move at Birmingham was trying to hire Eva from Chelsea. The lads seem to like her work

Don't have FM12 (usually get the game every 2 years), but it seems the success of your tactics are totally dependent on the country you play in. I used a 1 (CB) - 3 (DM) - 2 (Wide Midfielders) - 4 Forwards with the sliders on all out attack and very direct passing style, I was able to eventually make Norwich the best team in Europe. Using the same formation at Barcelona, my team performed poorly and got the sack.

Can't wait til you get them relegated to league one where they really belong.Posted on 9/6/12 at 11:19 pm to WarSlamEagle
One of the coolest stories I've ever heard in professional soccer. Right up their with Dynamo Kiev and WWII. Sometimes real life is stranger than fiction.

By the way, I'm awesome with Preston North End.

I'm trying to take a team from the division below the Blue Square Leagues to the Premier League.
Chester FC. Look 'em up.

Or worst. Hard to break the habit once you get hooked. The learning curve is huge, but once you get past that it's probably worse than crack.

This is how I started following Brighton. They were a League 1 side when I ran with them in FM. My best friend growing up was from Brighton.
