Usain Bolt Wants A Trial at United

Lifelong Red Devils fan says he could "make a difference".
Who needs Lucas or RVP if you have the fastest man in the world?
(Just a stupid little story to pass the time until next Saturday.)

I wish they would, just like SKC let Ochocinco.

HA Id love to watch him train with em... wonder if he's got anything?

He has a little video from his documentary that he tells fergie to watch this... and then just kinda jogs around a small field with about 20 other jamaicans and heads the ball poorly twice.

Would love to see him get a one-on-one situation on the wing. All he'll need is basic passing skills after that.

I've heard him say he wanted to play before. My problem with his statement is the "lifelong" Man U fan, but not for the reason you think. I went to Jamaica on my honeymoon expecting soccer pitches everywhere. It's not near as big down there as you would think. You know what is? Fricking Polo. Not Water Polo, fricking I'm on a horse hitting a ball with a stick polo. No one acted like they gave a shite about soccer.

Well, that's like saying the US not liking soccer because there are more football and baseball fields.

Sort of. You pass a TON of Polo fields on the way to any resort. I'm not saying it's not possible that he liked soccer, I'm saying it's hard to imagine him seeing them play until very recently(traveling for track events) Because Jamaica is poor as hell and it isn't a huge sport there.

I've never been, but curious to know if you ventured to the "non resort" areas.

No, they won't let you just roam on your own. You can go on "trips" that are resort endorsed but Jamaica is dangerous as hell. My only knowledge comes from the various locals that worked there and specifically told me that not many care about soccer. It wasn't just one person. I had a bartender go find me a Jamaican soccer kit and he was like soccer? That will be tough.
How about a polo shirt? I laughed. It may be different now, but back in 05ish, it was not big at all.
ETA:Sandals had two resorts 5 minutes from each other. We went to the other one for dinner one night and that property is divided by a very small two lane road. They have guards with assault rifles guarding the gates. They drop you off on one side and then shuttle you to the other.....literally 50ft. at most from gate to gate. They WILL NOT let you walk across.

Yeah, but the EPL has a crazy reach in some unexpected places. My dad has told me of kids in Zambian villages knowing who Rooney and Chicharito were. ZAMBIA.

I totally understand, but in 05 we barely had coverage of the EPL here. I'm just telling you what I was told by the locals.

Saw him play in a charity game a couple years ago. Will not be playing at Charlton Athletic much less ManUre.

Oh I believe you. Jamaica is bigger on track, polo and bobsledding.

He might be able to catch on at Leatherhead.

I wouldn't mind a trial with United either. Where do I sign up?

Olympics or Youtube, your choice.

Maybe the Jamaican national team should give him a shot. They don't have much to lose.
