It's cool, we've got Rimando.

True, but he isn't going to play THAT much. I don't think. Due to the fact that he is a MLSer. Same with the other guys though. It is going to be a mixmatch of GKs.
Guzan is in the offseason. I wonder if they asked him and he turned them down or they just wanted other people to get looks. Either way.
I went to the OLY quals and can't get that experience out of my head. Hamid and Johnson, almost single handily derailed the OLY chances.
I think some of these people should be in the A squad. It's a good roster, other than the GK situation. I would have just preferred Guzan.

Seems like he had a good match for us last year in a friendly.
Am I making that up?
Anybody follow him at Malaga this past season?
Got shite on by a sooooooooooooooooooft handball in the box early in the game. He was still working his way back from injury, which is why he didn't play vs. Scotland. He was (obviously) not quick enough to keep pace with Neymar, Hulk, Pato etc.
He was off and on with Malaga this year, with (surprise) injury issues, but played more toward the end of the year, and played pretty well in the two games I saw him play.
In my mind, he never fully recovered from his knee exploding in 2009. He's still good at the things he does well (uses his size, great in the air, decent passing out of the back), still bad at the things he did poorly (footspeed, quickness). He still reads the game better than any CB we have, aside from Bocanegra.
I wouldn't have trusted his body to hold up over 5 games in 15 days (plus training) for this stretch we have right now. Maybe they can manage his minutes in the Gold Cup, and use him for one group game, then the quarterfinal (rest him for the semi) and the final.
He's still good, his body just isn't reliable anymore. But if we finish the hex in 4th, and have a playoff to go to the World Cup? Gimme Gooch and Carlos in the middle, (and in something sure to draw ridicule) park Maurice Edu right in front of them.
