Speculation is that Inter Milan has put a loan offer in for Carlos Tevez and wants a response by July 31st.

Nigel Reo-Coker may end up at Bolton.

Chelsea signs Barca-B starlet Oriol Romeu for 5 million.

Chelsea, Man City, Roma is the top three for Javier Pastore.

Man City to open talks w/ Atletico Madrid over Aguero within the next day.

Drogba (CFC) and Zabaleta (MCFC) are signing contract extensions.

Redknapp says 35million is not enough for Chelsea to sign Luka Modric.

I think Bojan will be a good addition to Roma, especially since he'll be able to give Totti more off days without a huge dropoff but I'm not so sure he's gonna be seen as the type superstar that would cause Barca to burn bridges to get him back in 2 years time.

I love the Bojan signing. I think he's a 10 goal guy next season. I am a big Bojan fan though.

Jeremy Menez to Paris St Germain from AS Roma transfer for €8-9 Mil should happen soon.

Menez has a world a talent but it's probably better he take his piss poor attitude back to France. The low transfer fee really reflects his attitude at Roma more than anything; based on talent alone he should probably bring near twice that price. Fans of Arsenal, Marseilles, Lyon et al that were rumored to have some interest may now count their blessings.

I always liked Menez as a player. He was one of the reasons I was thinking about making Roma my Serie A team of choice (they still probably will be assuming I watch enough Italian league stuff - it would help if FSC would hire new announcers). But I didn't watch Roma enough to really know about his attitude issues.

French players usually have terrible attitudes, especially those from the burbs of Paris (like Menez) and Marseilles (like Nasri). The 87 class of awesome French players (Benzema, Ben Arfa, Menez, Nasri) have notoriously bad attitudes.

Menez: I've held out hope for him forever because I agree that he's one of the more exciting players in the game when he's on his game. Few have his combination of pace and dribbling skills which lead to a number of Messi-esque youtube moments of him making 5 defenders seem like they're chasing a greased pig at a county fair.

Unfortunately, however, it just wasn't that often that Menez seemed motivated enough to actually contribute. Seriously, it seems as though he suffers from depression or something as every other match sees him moping around the pitch looking like 5 year old forced to clean his room. It also only takes him a couple times losing the ball before he gets frustrated and just completely quits trying.

He's been benched a number of times and had had blow-ups with every manager he's played for at Roma due to simple lack of effort.

I hadn't really considered that so many of these guys have attitude issues but it sure seems the case. It's really too bad.

FSC and FS+: Most of their Serie A announcers are just pathetic, especially the one man crews that calls the 2-3 undercard matches who often don't even know most of the players names. It's so bad I'm convinced there must be an EPL promotional conspiracy behind it.

Surely you aren't talking about Whittle, Patrick, and Visca. Those guys are awesome.

I can't imagine that there were ever real possibilities for Pastore other than Chelsea or maybe Man City/U, the Milan clubs or Real.

Roma was rumored to have interest but I doubt it was ever serious due to the fee unless some top players had demanded transfers and were sold. Buying Lamela kind of confirmed that we weren't after Pastore.

I wish he would've gone to Arsenal or Tottenham if to the EPL but I suppose that's the same as Roma due to the price tag.

Zamparini holds about 25 press conferences a day and has been harping on the €40+ forever every time for months. After the Sanchez deal, it will be interesting to see how much Chelsea will pay?

Maybe on their soccer talk shows or English games but I don't really enjoy any of the Serie A English announcers that much.

Added problem is that my gf also thinks they're really boring which makes it a lot harder to watch as many matches as I'd like.

When I'm in NY, I usually try to synch up the volume from the Italian live feed. So, I don't listen to them all that often but I think it's Patrick they send to do matches alone and really can make you lose interest even in a good partita.

If it's him, he's also the one that can't resist 5 minutes without a backhanded insult to Italian football in general (kinda like this board) and both he and I think it's Whittle seldom seem all that familiar with any non-Milano rosters.

Another issue is that the beauty of the Italian game, to me, is in the complexity of tactics, especially for the mid table sides. Almost all Italian announcers may seem pretty dramatic but their constant attention is to illuminate tactics that even people who know a lot of soccer may be missing; the same thing you bring to the table in Soccreligious.

I've always enjoyed them. Do wish they'd focus tactically, as well, though.

Didn't see a lot of Bari matches where he played but Huseklepp scored a fantastic header against Roma.

Thanks for that.

What are your thoughts on Palermo CB Dorin Goian? He's supposedly on trial with Rangers.

Fulham ink Swiss U21 international and former Palermo midfielder Patjim Kasami. Solid signing. Only 19, but will have a big place in the side for the future.

Second young central midfielder signed in the last couple weeks, along with Marcel Gekov.

I like Jol's work so far. We still need a striker though.
