Enrique is the only guaranteed starter out of this 11. Aquilani might. The rest definitely won't.

That 11 we just saw was essentially the 3rd team. A few 2nd team players (Carra, Adam, Spearing, Aquilani) but the rest are 3rd team.

Charlier Adam is useless. Decent half. Good possession, but no real chances. Toronto packed the middle so LFC stayed on the perimeter. Pacheco looked good and even Spearing looks capable in that system. Aquilani's off the ball movement was good. Enrique hasn't changed. Indecisive going forward, but flashes of that Spanish technique. That's about it.

Considering Gerrard, Downing, Henderson, Suarez, Bellamy, Carroll, Kelly and Reina haven't joined the team yet, there aren't many first team options. The average age of the squad today is 21.

The second half team is much more attacking than the first.

eh.....I thought it was ok. Very unimaginative compared to his usual level of play.

To be fair he was surrounded by extremely young players (and Adam) who were visually cautious to make mistakes. He should have been paired with Suso instead of Adam.

The pace in the second is significantly higher.

Sterling/Suso/Shelvey look so much better than Adam/Ibe/Spearing.

They are pressuring the ball much better but Toronto is still crowding the pitch centrally.

Sterling is electric. He's going to be a legend one day.

Sell Adam and spearing. Go with aquilani, Gerrard, Lucas and Shelvey at CM. agreed?

Henderson is still a big question mark though. I think he showed just enough last year to earn a spot in the squad this season. Oh, downing must go as well but that's a given.
