I know it kind of plays into the meme of Koeman signing the Dutch NT for Barca, but Van De Beek is the kind of player Barca needs. They're lacking youthful legs/energy in that midfield in a bad way and Donny is great at running into space. Could be a useful player to get on the end of Messi's passes

They really weren't though. They just signed De Jong and had Arthur, two of the more promising young midfielders in the world when they typically only play with 3 of them.

Both of those guys are more "ball-carrier" CMs, granted FdJ does more defensively. VdB is 10x the goal threat either of those guys are which is what I was referring to in my post
