He wants to win the world cup, he's lived his whole life in Germany. He's more German than American. I get it. I'd be pissed if he switches but I get it.

Well, he DID dress and play for the senior national team, even if it was just friendlies, so it is just a tad shittier, IMO.

That said, if he goes, he goes. frick 'em.

I cheered for Jay Heaps, Ramiro Corrales and Jonathan Bornstein at left back.

I'll cheer for the next guy. IDGAF who he is, to be honest.

Hopefully the next guy is at least marginally better

I said I'd be pissed if he left. It would be a douche move after playing for us and I don't think he will. I'm just saying I'd get why he would want to play for Germany.

The German FA, however, were completely surprised to hear about this supposed meeting. "I spoke to Löw yesterday," the national team's spokesman told SI.com on Thursday. "He categorically denied seeing Chandler. There is nothing to this story, it's just a silly rumor."

Conspiracy theorists will undoubtedly chip in with a "he would say it, wouldn't he?" at this point, but someone with a very different agenda confirmed this version of (non-)events. "I can tell you that Löw neither phoned nor met with Timmy," Chandler's agent Thomas Kroth told SI.com on Friday afternoon. Kroth, a former Bundesliga midfielder with Hamburger SV and Eintracht Frankfurt, seemed bemused by the rumor. "Nothing has changed, nothing at all. He's still very happy to play for the U.S.," he added.

It sounds like he isn't really on their radar. I have a feeling he sticks with us

Has to be a real match, not just a friendly.
