It's ridiculous. I remember going to UK football games when Mumme was running the original Air Raid and games would last 5 hours. I'd be in hangover mode before the game even ended.

Yeah, don't get me wrong... I love football. But I'll be fricked if I ever go to a 2:30 CBS game/8:00 PM ESPN game again.
The 6:00 ESPN kickoff usually has the pressure of another game after, so they get it done relatively quickly. Same thing with the regular season NFL kickoffs.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think its imitating European crowds. Singing and chanting isn't imitation. Its original and unique to the squad, team, or city. I guess you could say they use the same type of songs themselves (as opposed to same words), but they're still cheering their team on in their own way, without some lame PA assistance or piped in music. The fans control the support in soccer.

Introduce them to soccer, let them see, they will learn on their own.
