I was going to type up some shite in agreement with some of that, but since I'm at work.

Ditto - keeper: no, easier scoring the better: yes

We do not have to the exact same rules as the other league anyway.

Atom, this will save a huge amount of time over the course of the season by using the EPL scoring system.

Agreed. If I read the scoring rules correctly defenders, mids and forwards all get the same points for scoring a goal. Doesn't seem right.

Another thing is we need rules on the tactical freedom.

You can start between 1-3 forwards, 3-5 midfielders, and 3-5 defenders as long they total up to 11 (including a keeper).

Also, out of curiousity, how was the draft order determined?

Pretty sure he randomized it

I'd venture to guess a random number generator of sorts. I'm ok with tactical freedom, just like the other league is doing.

Same.. but limited a little.

I don't want any 2-2-6's or anything.

4-4-2 or any variation that involves a 1 # change from those.. ie. you can have anywhere from 3-5 def, 3-5 mf, and 1-3 forwards. opinions?

You have to play at least 1 keeper,3 defenders and 1 forward. That's my suggestion. What is the order in subsequent rounds?

I almost said that then I realized that would allow a 3-6-1. Which I've never seen a fantasy league allow, but am not totally against.

I don't think the 1-(3-5)-(3-5)-(1-3) rule is too limiting.. and allows for 99.9% of realistic formations

That is exactly what I put. No need for six midfielders. You would be nuts to only start one striker anyway.

If anyone wants EURO 2012 Spain, then too bad.

I think we can only draft 5 mids anyway. No way you can play a 3-6-1.

I like the 442 rule myself (just because of roster sizes per position etc)... i think if we allow only 3 defenders then most people will hoard mids and strikers. (unless defenders are more valuable than i anticipate)

Ill adapt to whatever you guys want though, not overly concerned

I most played a 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 on the EPL site last year.

Yeah, it will make it harder to obtain three good strikers, but then there could be value in the defenders.

A good defender on a team like Man City (who will get a lot of clean sheets) is very valuable.

These are the formations that I think we should allow. 343,352,442,451 and 541.

with our current scoring system, are top defenders as valuable as say a top 10 st or mid
