Ok so the plan for the moment is for me to move to Portland in May. So I need to jump on this bus from the very beginning so I don't become a bandwagon fan. I don't really understand how this draft works. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated. Also other than the official site of the Timbers is there other places I can keep up with Timbers news?

Bigsoccer has a good MLS board and an expansion side board where there are some good threads on the Timbers.

My understanding of the expansion draft is that tomorrow they and Vancouver will go back and forth picking players from the pool of unprotected players. Not sure how many picks both teams get though.

All of this is good information. They get 10 picks. I'm on the BigSoccer MLS board.

Jump on this Portland thing from the beginning. It's going to be fantastic.

Yes, it most certainly will.

New website called "Wikipedia"

I'm sure it's pretty much the same.

The difference is that there are two teams. Two players can be taken from each team. But after one player is taken, the team can protect another one.

I need to pick an MLS team, at least until some Southern team gets one or I move to where one is. I can't decide between Seattle or Portland. This draft and whether Portland's kits look Celtic-like may sway me.

Will there be some sort of live feed somewhere for the expansion draft?

ETA: nm, found that MLS will have some sort of feed for it.

Portland is going to have the best stadium atmosphere in MLS next year.

I would really like a Southern team, but it's not going to happen within the next three years. Think it will be at least five. I can't root for a florida team. Atlanta is really the only hope, unless some crazy developments unfold in nashville.
