Oh, frick yes!!! USL is a great league right now, and most definitely a step up from NPSL! I hope we can keep the name Nashville FC, as I know DMD and the NFC board are in discussions.

I just read a statement from Nashville FC and it doesn't look like that will happen unless things change and they sell the name.

Well, the statement says they are in discussions for an agreement between the two entities. But Chris Ferrell and co. can't be daft. This has always been the direction of soccer in this city. To hold on to the NPSL club with hopes of growing it specifically is just silly talk. The idea of a community-owned club is kind of a gimmick, anyway.
That's said, I still love NFC, and am proud to have been here from the start. I'll definitely be at the NPSL opener tonight!

I'll be there as well. Might be best if they played all games at Treveca. Vandy feels so empty. Should be a fun year too with all the major cities in the state with clubs now.

Build up these kinds of franchises over the next 7-10 years, keep great fan support at the lower levels, and you're closer to promotion/relegation. Maybe still a pipe dream, but I see USL teams essentially being converted over to MLS and know those are the kinds of clubs that will still be supported well in lower leagues.

Apparently the name change is because of copyright issues with an already existing Nashville FC Youth team. The Tennessean
