I love Almiron from his time in Atlanta but he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn today.
He can drive the ball incredibly well but those shots, oof

Side note: when a team goes down a player, how does the team change their approach?
No clue. We subbed off our best attacker, brought on Harvey Elliot and Jota, then followed that up with Nunez and Quansah.
Had you told me before the game that those subs would get us a win playing a man down at St James Park I’d have laughed in your face.

I am still watching as much soccer as possible to learn the game but it looked like they went into a 2-minute drill once Nunez came on and kept it up the rest of the match.

I think the actual answer is Nunez and Jota are very direct. Plan was likely bunker down and play on counter. Harvey probably brings some control to the MF as he doesn’t have a ton of pace but is comfortable on the ball and distributing for a quick counter.
