I think they are seeing a large uptick in ratings in the Southeast because of him. Non-Newcastle EPL fans had very little desire to watch Newcastle/Huddersfield until recently. I think any time a club breaks their transfer record on a player, neutral fans will want to watch and see how he does in his first start, regardless of which league he came from.

Of all the times I’ve seen managers get sent to the stands I’ve never seen one actually been shown a red card before

Not at all. You refuse to look at it objectively.

No

You think he is the main reason the match was switched

He could clearly be a factor, but no way the main reason.

No MLS fan base or a slight increase in viewers in the south east(which still isn't a soccer market) is going to make NBC switch matches.

The other choice was two teams most people dont want to see.

They'd much rather see those other two teams than Huddersfield.

I highly doubt they would have made the switch this week if Newcastle wasn't planning to start their record signing. Can you name one other difference between this week and when they made the initial decision? Both Huddersfield and Newcastle were awful teams to watch 4 weeks ago.

lol neither of them are the draw like Newcastle, same reason why when the top six play bottom teams they are still on national/prime broadcast

Newcastle has a USMNT would be a huge factor, you also realize they switch these broadcast around all the time for the 3pm UK matches when international providers show them.

MLS is a niche league with niche support

It is not going to be the driving force on who NBC puts on tv.
