im trying not to give up on this shitbox of a football club but damn... i just don't see it happening this year.

warnock needs to decide what he wants to do soon because nigel adkins is sitting out there unemployed and if neil is going to keep dropping these 'i don't like being 300 miles from my family' quotes every other day he should step down IMO. he's finally got the squad he wanted, if only we could have had this takeover go thru sooner. still need a couple more players in.

not impressed with morison thus far but it's only his second match since who knows when. NW hyped the shite out of that transfer.

i just want to get promoted again. fricking cardiff, hull, leicester, watford battling it out and we just can't keep up with these cocksuckers. frick. seriously, frick....frick.

frick.

mcdermott released his retained list today

Somma is going to continue training with the club and will have the chance to join in pre-season training. Not necessarily over for him yet.

Somma clearly the big name in there, injuries have done for his time at Leeds. Leigh Bromby to take on a coaching role at #lufc.

Youngsters Monty Gimpel, Sanchez Payne, Patrick Antelmi and Jordan Snodin also released. #lufc

#lufc have announced their retained list. Somma, Habibou, Bromby, Connolly, Kisnorbo, Rachubka all released by the club.

glad to see somma get a chance to prove his fitness in the summer. kinda shocked about gimpel, he was supposed to be very highly regarded. payne also had some moments in the preseason that showed promise. bromby was unlikely to play again after that horrible injury anyway but he will be a great asset to the youth setup with richard naylor.

1 Paddy Kenny – Kept us in games with some top saves and good distribution. For me doesn’t look disappointed enough when we concede a goal.
2 Lee Peltier – Hurriedly given the captain’s armband then became a liability at left back. Later formed a good central pairing with Lees using his pace.
3 Adam Drury – The season’s mystery. Would play steadily and then disappear.
4 Tom Lees – Featuring for England U-21’s confirmed his growth and pedigree as a player. Even so cannot be detached from the multiple ‘6 yard box’ goals we continue to concede.
5 Jason Pearce – Expected more after a big build-up before he joined. Lingering memory is of him being brushed off the ball leading to Derby scoring the winner at Elland Road.
6 Patrick Kisnorbo – Played some cracking games for us and wish him the best for the future
7 Paul Green – Covers a lot of ground and quite versatile. Beaten too easily when covering the back four and makes basic blunders.
8 Rudy Austin – Almost back to his marauding best in the last games. Needs to be more connected to the rest of the midfield, but high hopes of him for next season.
9 Steve Morison – Is it possible Leeds have again got a player who is past his prime and in decline? Work for McD here, otherwise we need a 20 goal striker.
11 Luke Varney – Divides opinion like no other player in the squad. Ended up second top scorer.
12 Jamie Ashdown – recall that a visiting Chelsea fan picked him out for praise during the League Cup tie. We’re fortunate to have a back-up goalie of this standard.
14 Aidan White – scored a memorable goal against Everton and kept Lennon and Bale more or less quiet. And that’s about it.
15 Stephen Warnock – acquisition of the season. Really adds something to the team, quality left foot. On occasions was culpable for goals conceded.
16 Danny Pugh– Never has had a bad game for us. Good in a squad that’s short on left-footed players.
17 Michael Brown – Man of the match performance against Spurs but often one tackle away from a red card. Neat ruse in his contract about reaching a certain number of appearances triggering an extension.
18 Michael Tonge – was he the one who scored the cracking goal at Huddersfield? Or was it Norris?
19 David Norris – was he the one who scored the cracking goal at Huddersfield? Or was it Tonge?

21 Dioufy – Influential in many ways – encouraging the youngsters, holding the ball up intelligently and chipped in with a few goals. Just one flash of his alleged media persona against Brighton and McD was on it immediately.
22 Habibou – Apparently gave up on a career as a cricketer when he was out for a duck.
25 Sam Byram – Nothing more satisfying than coming from nowhere to player of the season. Occasionally did not show the instincts of a good defender and, in the longer term, may revert to his original role in midfield (preferably with Leeds).
26 Dom Poleon – the one player we have with pace. Was (rightly) the substituted substitute against Palace. More work here for McD over the summer.
30 Ryan Hall – Was unlucky not to score at Derby when he beat two players and had his shot scooped off the line. But very anonymous at other times. Difficult to see him as part of the future.
32 Chris Dawson – was not over-awed in his only appearance. Encouraging prospect.
44 Ross McCormack – Tries hard, even too hard at times. Leeds would benefit enormously from him hitting a vein of goal scoring form. Just needs the confidence to do it and the encouragement that he didn’t get for the majority of the season.

fair analysis IMO. also should be noted that mcswagmack finished 2nd in assists behind only tom ince.
